How long does it take to get compensation?
This is a question many people understandably ask. This will depend upon how severe your injuries are, your expected recovery time and if the insurance company accepts responsibility.
What can I make a personal injury claim for?
You can make a personal injury claim if you have been injured due to the negligent actions of another person or company. Personal injury claims include:

What happens when I make a compensation claim?
We will ask you to explain how the accident happened. We will then gather evidence to prove responsibility for causing the accident.
We will arrange for you to attend an independent medical appointment.
After the evidence has been gathered, this is built into a case that is presented to the third-party insurer.
The defendant will then be given the opportunity to either agree or disagree with liability.
They may then put a settlement amount put forward.
The vast majority of personal injury claims are settled out of court. Very few cases ever go to a court trial.
How long will it take for my claim to settle?
There are many factors, however, the main ones are :
The type of accident: A straightforward road accident where it is clear who was at fault for causing the accident will settle faster than a complex work accident.
The seriousness of the injuries: If you have suffered serious, life-threatening injuries that may take years for you to make a full recovery from, it will likely take longer for your claim to settle. However, we will endeavour to get an early payment of at least some of the compensation.
Liability is agreed: If the insurance company agrees that they are liable this will mean a faster settlement.
How long does it take to receive compensation after accepting an offer?
After your claim has been settled you should receive your compensation between 14 – 21 days. This depends on if your claim was settled in or out of court.
